A Castell (in English means castle) is a human tower built traditionally since XVII century in the area of Catalonia, Spain. The castells are human towers of several stages and to build them there are a big number of people of different strength, weight, and size involved working together as a team, developing skills such as strength, balance, expertise and teamwork.

The human castell is considered a success when stages of its assembling and disassembling, can be done in complete succession. The assembly is complete once all castellers have climbed into their designated places, and the enxaneta who is the youngest and lightest person of the colla  (team) , usually a child,climbs into place at the top and raises one hand with four fingers erect, in a gesture said to symbolize the stripes of the Catalan flag. The enxaneta then climbs down the other side of the castell, after which the remaining levels of castellers descend in highest-to-lowest order until all have reached safety.

This tour goes along the Mediterranean Seaside and inland, the area also known as the Spanish Tuscany, it is a flat farming land with small stone towns all over. Biking becomes more than a transport and becomes a pleasure as you will be able to visit places which are not accessibleto cars. For this tour we provides with an hybrid bike. You shouldn’t expect all paved roads there are many sandy roads.
Furthermore, you will visit interesting towns like Palamós with the fishing Market, Pals and Peretallada with its stone streets and medieval architecture. There are visits to the Montgrí Massif, to St Pere Pescador, the Natural Park of “Els Aiguamolls de l’Empordà” and finally you will end in Roses from where there is a round tour along the vineyards and olive oil production, surrounded by natural parks and cultural leisure. A tour parallel to the coast line in a northern direction with almost flat and enchanting landscapes.

This itinerary is one of my favorites, nice and easy; a classic of Catalan walking. At the beginning you go along the coastline with views over the coastline’s small towns and at the end you will be visiting the medieval town of Empordà. It perfectly combines nature, great gastronomy and culture with few unevenness to enjoy from this wonderful area. The walk from Palamós to Calella de Palafrugell made me decide that it was worth to start with the venture of the incoming walking and cycling agency !!

Descubrir Cataluña a caballo

Hace unos años que ofrecemos rutas a caballo “ itinerantes”, de alojamiento a alojamiento, o en “estrella” con alojamiento en una casa rural, y con salidas diarias a conocer el entorno a caballo. Se trata de rutas para personas que tienen mucha experiencia en monta ya que la ruta dura varias horas al día .

No comenzamos a ofrecer estas rutas hasta que encontramos el partner en Cataluña que mejor se ajustaba al espíritu EITravel, de ofrecer tours a los visitantes en los que disfrutaran de experiencias únicas y que siempre recordarían. Descubrir el entorno en contacto y respeto con la naturaleza, con buenos caballos, disfrutando de la cultura, buenas costumbres, de la gastronomía,  e idiosincrasia del lugar en buena compañía.

Gracias al gran trabajo de Mick Peters, que combinó a la perfección la Seguridad, Profesionalidad y Hospitalidad, hoy podemos ofrecer una serie de rutas a caballo que permiten conocer Cataluña de la montaña a la costa, en grupos con muy buen ambiente, y buena relación calidad-precio. Mick ya no está, pero si su espíritu y legado.

Me encanta saber que hacemos bien nuestro trabajo, que ofrecemos tours únicos en el mundo, me encanta cuando los clientes regresan y nos mandan mails llenos de energía y felicidad.

Discover Catalonia Trails horseriding

It is now a few years that we offer trail riding holidays in Catalonia, from lodging to lodging, or “star” with accommodation in a rural house with daily departures to discover the surroundings horseriding. These routes are for people who are experienced in riding as the tour takes a few hours a day.

Just started offering these routes when we found the partner in Catalonia that shares the spirit of EITravel, it is to offer tours to visitors to enjoy unique experiences that will always remember. Explore the environment with full respect to nature, on excellent Andalusian horses, enjoying the culture, gastronomy, wine and hospitality of the place in good company.

Thanks to the great work of Mick Peters, who combined to perfection Security, Professionalism and Hospitality, we can now offer a range of horse riding tours to discover Catalonia from the mountains to the coast in groups with very good atmosphere and good value money. Mick is gone, but his spirit and legacy remains.

I love knowing that we do well our job, that we offer unique experiences and tours in the world. I especially love the comments from our customers when they return satisfied from their holiday, full of happiness and energy.

L’associació turística de Pals edita una revista mensual gratuïta per tots els visitants de la vila en la que informa sobre activitats a fer, informació dels emprenedors locals and noticies de la vila en general. Per la revista d’agost, EITravel ha escrit dos articles relacionats amb les possibilitats que ofereix la zona per fer senderisme i cicloturisme ja que algunes de les nostres rutes passen per aquest indret. En el Monvínic se respira una atmósfera especial: el de la exquisitez, la innovación y sencillez al mismo tiempo. Se trata de un lugar creado y pensado para los amantes del vino, la cultura y el buen gusto.

Su creador Sergi Ferrer-Salat encargó al diseñador Alfons Tost un espacio para la divulgación del vino que el año pasado fue finalista del premio FAD de interiorismo.

El pasado jueves tuve la oportunidad de compartir con un grupo muy interesante de personas de varios ámbitos una cena de maridaje en la sala de catas del Monvínic. 

Gastronómicamente Monvínic ofrece productos de mercado, siempre que es posible traidos por el propio agricultor desde el campo hasta la ciudad. Los platos creados por el chef Sergi de Meia, premio Cocinero Joven del año 2009 por la Academia de Gastronomía de Cataluña, se casan con algunas de las más de 3000 referencias de vino que disponen en bodega y compran diariamente los seis someliers que Monvínic tiene en plantilla. 

El trato de César Cánovas y su equipo es exquisito, desprenden su pasión por el mundo del vino y el buen servicio.

Disfrutamos del maridaje de un espumoso de Alella,  Alella Vinícola,  que acompañó un pequeño entrante de berenjena ahumada con mejillones, un Riesling de Nueva Zelanda, Kahurangi, para acompañar un refrescante gazpacho de 7 tomates , un primitivo de Italia, Guttarolo, que acompañó un deliciosa carne de cerdo  y un vino dulce griego, Samos Coop., para acompañar un postre de mango y frutos rojos: Una experiencia para los sentidos.

En el bar se abren 30 botellas diariamente, vinos sencillos y sofisticados de todas procedencias, y se puede pedir el vino a copas, o medias copas.

La Costa Brava de día tiene una luz intensa, brillante. Los atardeceres son magníficos, esa luz que se vuelve tenue da lugar a la magia de la tranquilidad y la paz.

Tamariu es uno de esos lugares que yo tengo en mi “Top 10” del mundo.

El pasado 15 de Julio conocí un lugar muy especial, la barraca de pescadores de la playa “Els Lliris”, construida en 1872. Se trata de una antigua caseta que utilizaban los pescadores como refugio y también como lugar de encuentro y sociabilidad, dispone de una pequeña cocina, algunos servicios y una interminable mesa con bancos que me recuerda a las sociedades gastronómicas que frecuentaba con mi familia en mi infancia en San Sebastián. Comida, un tranquilo cremat, charlas interminables, la buena temperatura y el mar; un regalo para los sentidos.
